Vestina appreciates great Slovenian architecture

23.January.2017

Today, January 23rd 2017, marks the 145th anniversary of birth of the biggest and most influential Slovenian architect – Jože Plečnik. Plečnik was, and still is to this day, known around the world. In Slovenia he is most known for his work in our capital city Ljubljana. Some of his most important and iconic masterpieces are: the National and university library, Žale cemetery, Tromostovje bridge, Čevljarski most bridge, Križanke arena and Bežigrad stadium. Plečnik died on January 7th 1957 in his home in Trnovo, however his architectural accomplishments still inspire people today. And they have also inspired us.

All of these photos of our eco-friendly electronic and solar candles Vestina were made at Plečnik’s Žale cemetery, which is also the largest cemetery in our capital city. We chose Žale because of the elegant architectural lines, which we, too, try to incorporate in our design process. We believe our sustainable Vestina candles will stand the test of time just as Plečnik’s Žale cemetery.
